NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the RSK (ribosomal S6 kinase) family of serine/threonine kinases. This kinase contains two non-identical kinase catalytic domains and phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the mitogen-activated kinase (MAPK) signalling pathway. The activity of this protein has been implicated in controlling cell growth and differentiation. Alternative splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2016]

Uniprot Description

RSK3: an AGC kinase of the RSK family. Phosphorylated and activated by Erk1 and -2 in response to many growth factors, polypeptide hormones and neurotransmitters. Several phosphorylation sites are important for its activation. Possesses two kinase domains connected by a regulator linker region. Phosphorylates a wide range of substrates including ribosomal protein S6.

Product Notes

The RPS6KA2 rps6ka2 (Catalog #AAA427746) is a Blocking Peptide and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The RPS6KA2 Immunizing Peptide reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat, Horse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. The amino acid sequence is listed below: C-EYLSPNQL SRQDVH. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "RPS6KA2, Blocking Peptide" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
