NCBI Description

This gene encodes a member of the Aurora subfamily of serine/threonine protein kinases. The encoded protein is a chromosomal passenger protein that forms complexes with Aurora-B and inner centromere proteins and may play a role in organizing microtubules in relation to centrosome/spindle function during mitosis. This gene is overexpressed in several cancer cell lines, suggesting an involvement in oncogenic signal transduction. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Uniprot Description

AurC: a member of the AUR family of kinases. May play a part in organizing microtubules in relation to the function of the centrosome/spindle pole during mitosis. Localized to centrosome from anaphase to cytokinesis. Two splice-variant isoforms have been described.

Product Notes

The Human AURKC aurkc (Catalog #AAA9340883) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA9340883 ELISA Kit recognizes Human AURKC. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "aurora kinase C, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
