Aminopeptidase, Aeromonas Active Protein
Aminopeptidase, Aeromonas, Recombinant (AAP)
Leucine aminopeptidase from Aeromonas proteolytica (AAP) are widely distributed in bacteria, yeast, plant, and animal tissues and, therefore, have a wide variety of biological functions that include protein maturation, protein degradation, hormone level regulation, and cell-cycle control. The importance of understanding the mechanism of action of aminopeptidases is underscored by the recent observation that the naturally occurring peptide analog inhibitor, bestatin, was shown to significantly decrease HIV viral in humans by inhibiting leucine aminopeptidase activity. Another physiologic role for aminopeptidases involves angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels, which is essential for tumor growth. Recently, a type-2 methionyl aminopeptidase from eukaryotes was identified as the molecular target for the anti-angiogenesis drugs ovalicin and fumagillin, one of which is in phase III clinical trials. Thus, the inhibition of aminopeptidase activity in viruses and malignant tumors is critically important in preventing the growth and proliferation of these types of cells.

Product Notes
The Aminopeptidase, Aeromonas (Catalog #AAA637275) is an Active Protein produced from Aeromonas proteolytica and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's Aminopeptidase, Aeromonas can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunocytochemistry (ICC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Aminopeptidase, Aeromonas for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "Aminopeptidase, Aeromonas, Active Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
