Interacts with TP53BP1 (via BRCT domain); the interaction is not dependent on its phosphorylation status. Binds nucleosomes. Interacts with trimethylated 'Lys-36' of histone H3 (H3K36me3) (in vitro).
Entry Function
Involved in the DNA damage response pathway by contributing to the maintenance of chromatin architecture. Recruited to the vicinity of DNA breaks by TP53BP1 and plays an accessory role to facilitate damage-induced chromatin changes and promoting chromatin relaxation. Required for efficient DNA repair and cell survival following DNA damage.
Preparation and Storage
Store at -20 degree C. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.

Product Notes

The MUM1 mum1 (Catalog #AAA2902220) is a Recombinant Protein produced from E Coli and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. AAA Biotech's MUM1 / PWWP Domain-Containing Protein MUM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Antigen Protein (AP), Protein Array. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the MUM1 mum1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "MUM1 / PWWP Domain-Containing Protein MUM1, Recombinant Protein" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.
