NCBI and Uniprot Product Information
NCBI Description
a helix-loop-helix protein that lacks a DNA binding domain; involved in transcription regulation [RGD, Feb 2006]
Uniprot Description
ID2: ID (inhibitor of DNA binding) HLH proteins lack a basic DNA-binding domain but are able to form heterodimers with other HLH proteins, thereby inhibiting DNA binding. ID-2 may be an inhibitor of tissue-specific gene expression. Heterodimer with other HLH proteins. Interacts with GATA4, IFI204 and NKX2-5. Interacts with NR0B2. Highly expressed in early fetal tissues, including those of the central nervous system.
Protein type: DNA-binding; Transcription, coactivator/corepressor
Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 6q16
Cellular Component: chromatin; cytoplasm; cytosol; nucleus; protein complex

Product Notes
The Rat ID2 id2 (Catalog #AAA285809) is an ELISA Kit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AAA285809 ELISA Kit recognizes Rat ID2. It is sometimes possible for the material contained within the vial of "DNA-binding protein inhibitor ID-2, ELISA Kit" to become dispersed throughout the inside of the vial, particularly around the seal of said vial, during shipment and storage. We always suggest centrifuging these vials to consolidate all of the liquid away from the lid and to the bottom of the vial prior to opening. Please be advised that certain products may require dry ice for shipping and that, if this is the case, an additional dry ice fee may also be required.Precautions
